Paul Goodyear H.Dip.Pop.Mus.
I’ve been playing guitar for 42 years and in a wide variety of styles. In 1990 I moved to London to study at the Musicians Academy under Ed Spieght, now head of Jazz guitar at the Royal Academy.
This was followed by a move north to Salford, Manchester for two years achieving a Higher Diploma in Popular Music and Recording. Again there were many gigs and I also held the guitar seat in University College Salford Big Band Jazz Orchestra who at the time were BBC National Champions. This included many performances including with the British jazz guitar great Martin Taylor!

“Ten years ago I couldn't play a note. Two years ago I achieved the highest marks in the whole of Europe in my Rockschool grade 8 exam and was asked to play at their awards ceremony at the Roundhouse London. I could never have done this without Paul Goodyear, his help, expert knowledge and tuition have been totally invaluable to me. I am now studying for a degree in music at Southampton University”
Alun Elliott Williams (former pupil)
“This is a well structured lesson in which there was a good balance between individual and group playing. Pupils were engaged and enthusiastic throughout. Paul’s approach to the material being covered was systematic and organised. There was also particularly good focus on how to practice effectively.”
Cardiff County and Vale Music Service
“A big thankyou for all your hard work…the high standard of teaching and the support of all the staff has been first rate and feedback from students has been overwhelming”
